Innovative technologies target oily waste gathering and treatment

Water resources management is an increasingly topical issue domestically, in particular for upstream oil, refining, and downstream petroleum product sectors. Conventional methods are progressively improved and innovations are introduced to address water refined product treatment issues along with offsetting emergency product releases under transportation and oily waste water treatment. Current practices evidence that such products mostly tend to accumulate on water surface as floating spots, although up to 30% appear dispersed in water. This paper proposes new designs for water area product gathering systems along with offsetting refined product emergency releases from subsea pipelines, in addition to oily waste water treatment unit designs.
