Justifying well operating conditions under sand production

Presently, gas storage well capacity is believed increasingly topical. This goal is expected to be achieved by new largerdiameter wells under field upgrades with hole expansion in reservoir intervals. Greater well capacity calls for some adjustments to well operating conditions, especially under water drive. This paper addresses three key well operating conditions – constants: pressure drawdown, gas rate, and well hole pressure gradient. Well parameter charts are provided for non-dimensional water displacement front. Well operation justification centres on a critical pressure gradient which defines formation failure and hole sand production. Filtration changes are linked with expected differential pressure drawdown. In addition, the authors explain preconditions to validate switching well operating conditions.
