Employee social protection as a Russian upstream oil and gas priority

This paper focuses on an adequate labour concept for the Russian oil and gas industry. The author notes insufficient studies in this area by far, highlighting and justifying the priority areas for upstream oil and gas, focusing on individual activity areas such as employee social care. Building on analysis of existing regulations, the paper highlights a social care framework of industry majors Ц viewed as one of the key social protection concept areas, at its micro-level. It identifies employee social protection benchmarks which are assumed essentially common, can be easily interpreted and likely suitable, companywide, for the oil and gas sector as well as other industries.
